Description
Handwoven bag features a shoulder strap in macrame style and tasseled drawstring fastening on the front of the bag. Each mochila is handwoven by women of the indigenous Wayuu tribe in La Guajira, Colombia using a single thread technique – a crochet technique passed down for centuries from generation to generation.Each of the mochilas displays a unique design, representing the natural elements that surround Wayuu culture. The bottom of each mochila feature an intricate symbolic style, chosen by the weaver as a means of representing her reality. It takes these women about 15 days to complete each bag.
