Handwoven bag features a shoulder strap and tasseled drawstring fastening, adjustable bi-laterally. Each mochila is handwoven by women of the indigenous Wayuu tribe in La Guajira, Colombia using a single thread technique – a crochet technique passed down for centuries from generation to generation.Each of the mochilas displays a unique design, representing the natural elements that surround Wayuu culture. The bottom of each mochila feature an intricate symbolic style, chosen by the weaver as a means of representing her reality. It takes these women about 15 days to complete each bag.
